Web Exercise #1:  Lesson Plans and Templates

  1. Visit The Merlot Pedagogy Portal at: http://pedagogy.merlot.org/TeachingStrategies.html
  2. Read and review the 23 teaching strategies.  Find 3 strategies that are NOT discussed in the chapter.  Note basic information that you learned about these strategies and why you feel they would be good ones to use in your future classroom.
  3. Then, visit The Teaching Planet website at: http://www.lessonplans4teachers.com/templates.php and review the lesson plan templates and guidelines that are available for download.  Save a few templates that you think will be the most useful in your future career and bookmark the site for future reference.
  4. Select a template or lesson plan that interests you and share it with your class.

Web Exercise #2:  100 Ways to Use Digital Cameras in the Classroom

  1. Read a list of 100 ways to use digital cameras in the classroom at:  http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plan/100-ways-use-digital-cameras 
  2. Try out one of the strategies!  Use your personal digital camera or the camera on your cell phone to try one of the 100 strategies mentioned on the list.  Email your creation to your professor.  Perhaps the most innovative ideas will be shared in class!
