Web Exercise #1:  Lesson Plans and Standards

1. Visit The National Council of Teachers of English at: http://www.ncte.org
2. Click the Resources tab at the top of the page and then select “Lesson Plans” from the drop-down menu options.
3. Review the variety of lessons and how they are connected to the standards.  Review at least 3 different lesson plans in any of the grade levels offered.
4. Add this link to your favorites to revisit in the future and find excellent resources for planning English instruction.

Web Exercise #2:  Formative Assessments

1. Go to http://datause.cse.ucla.edu and click on "Intro Module."
2. Use the materials in the module to familiarize yourself with the process of formative assessment.
3. Review Modules 1-7 to learn more about the key components of formative assessment.
