6-1: Explain why and provide examples of how teachers can influence student learning by improving allocated and student-engaged learning time.

6-2: Describe the prescribed format teachers should use in lesson presentations. Explain why each element is important and provide examples of objectives, lesson introduction, instruction and modeling, guided practice, independent practice, and closure.

6-3: Discuss the importance of understanding students’ culture in context of teacher-directed instruction. Defend whether teacher-directed instruction is culturally responsive.
