This report analyzes the risk factors and offending behavior of particularly violent juveniles and the best prevention and intervention programs for these juveniles.

  1. Explain how serious violent offenders are a distinct group compared to other juvenile offenders. Why is this an important distinction to understand?
     
  2. What types of risk factors does this report mention for serious, violent juvenile offenders? Does this match up with the various social risk factors your book mentions in regards to risks for delinquent, offending behavior?
     
  3. What kinds of prevention programs are effective with these types of offenders? What type of program do you think would be MOST effective?
