Chaos and the Abuse of Power: Workplace Bullying in Organizational and Interactional Context
Summary: Based on analysis of ethnographies, this article finds that the combination of relational powerlessness and organizational chaos gives rise to workplace bullying and suggests that organizations should reduce/minimize chaos to reduce incidents of workplace bullying.

The Role of Communication in Organizations: Ethical Considerations
Summary: This article explores the ethical behavior of managers in organizations with particular attention to the intersection of managers’ personal code of ethics and organizational culture. There is a particular focus on the role of power and authority in mediating the relationship between ideal ethics and operational ethics in organizations. The article presents a model of interpersonal communication competence that facilitates ethical decision making in the workplace.
