The text discusses the importance of genetic and environmental experiences as contributing to present day understanding psychopathology.  Describe how epigenetics and endophenotypes research sheds light upon the probabilistic aspects to how a person is predisposed to having a specific type of mental illness?  Highlight examples from the text in your response.

  2. Explain how advancement in technology has contributed to greater understanding of the neurocognitive processes and disruptions are associated with mental illness.

  3. Taking on the role of a therapist, your patient has recently been diagnosed with a severe mental illness. As your therapist, they ask you to better explain the neurocognitive functioning and biochemical changes that are taking place in their brain.  Develop a narrative response that incorporates pictures and figures in efforts to increase patient understanding and knowledge about their mental illness.
