How might being a person of color influence one’s ability to achieve wealth in America? Which racial category do you believe will have the most difficult time? Which do you believe will have the easiest path? Why?
Children of color are disproportionately represented among children living in poverty in the United States. When raising children, it is important to communicate to them the expectations society has for them. What messages do you think are necessary to communicate to children of color in order to prepare them for the economic world they are entering? Or, do you think that informing children about discrimination they might experience only serves to perpetuate inequality? Why?
