Questions to Consider:
- How do the authors’ characterize Huntington’s thesis, and what criticisms do they level against it?
- What evidence do they present to refute Huntington? What are their findings?

- Summarize the greed versus grievance thesis, and describe the author’s proposed approach in relationship to those thesis.
- What method(s) does the author use to test his thesis? Describe. What theoretical perspective informs his approach?
- What are his findings?
Questions to Consider:
- What conceptual theoretical problem do the authors claim to be trying to solve in this article? Explain what it is, say why it matters, and describe how the authors plan to address the problem.
- Explain in detail what the authors mean by norms as “process.”
- Summarize the cases the authors use to illustrate their thesis: say how norms work within those cases.
- What conclusions do the authors reach?
