Chapter 13: America, Europe, and NATO
 

1. To identify and explain the sources and historical evolution of U.S. policy especially during the Cold War and the establishment and evolution of NATO.
2. To explain and critique NATO’s mission after the Cold War, expansion eastward, and the impact of crisis with Russia over Ukraine on U.S.-European relations.
3. To detect and assess the impact of the key values and interests that shape U.S. policy toward Europe and NATO.
4. To identify and assess the alternative U.S. foreign policy options regarding NATO and its response to Russian aggression.
