2. To identify and explain the contemporary economic and political challenges to the U.S. posed by “rising” China, including its territorial claims, and America’s “pivot to the Pacific.”
3. To detect and assess the impact of the key values and interests that shape U.S. policy toward China.
4. To identify and assess alternative U.S. foreign policy options to deal with China’s economic and political rise, and territorial claims.
