  • Discuss the prevalence of particular public health issues such as smoking, obesity, teen pregnancy, and HIV/AIDS and be able to apply a sociological analysis to other public health issues not discussed.
  • Explain how the HIV/AIDS epidemic is intertwined with gender inequality, poverty, violence, and globalization.
