Chapter 7: Experimental Designs

1. Define the criteria necessary for establishing causation and provide a specific example of how a true experiment has been used in the field.
2. Describe each of the three types of quasi-experimental designs.
3. Explore the threats to causal (internal) validity in experimental designs and how a true experiment can help prevent each.
4. Describe the issues related to generalizability in experimental designs and at least one research method that increases the ability to generalize the results to a population.
5. Highlight the two ethical issues related to conducting experiments.
