Fundamental Statistics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences is designed not just to teach students how to calculate statistics, but also how to interpret the results of statistical analyses in light of a study's research hypothesis, and to communicate the results and interpretations to a broader audience. This book has three primary goals: to help students (1) develop an appreciation of how statistics are applied to topics and issues of interest and concern to them; (2) gain an appreciation of the issues related to the use of statistics within the research process; and (3) enhance their understanding of the research process and the role of statistics in examining ideas and questions.
