You are at the center of two of the key issues discussed in this chapter—globalization and networks. Try to list the many ways in which your life on any given day is affected by globalization. Now enumerate the many networks in which you are involved.

How many of those networks are global in scope? Which ones? How has your involvement in each of them affected your sense and understanding of other parts of the world, as well as of the globe as a whole?
