  1. Explore the Ties That Bind you Together. GenoPro: A Family Tree Solution A genogram (pronounced: jen-uh-gram) is a graphic representation of a family tree that displays detailed data on relationships among individuals. It goes beyond a traditional family tree by allowing the user to analyze hereditary patterns and psychological     factors that punctuate relationships. Genograms allow a therapist and his or her patient to quickly identify and understand various patterns in the patient's family history that may have had an influence on the patient's current state of mind. The genogram maps out relationships and traits that may otherwise be missed on a pedigree chart.
  2. American Family: Journey of Dreams The interactive family tree gives you an opportunity to create a special kind of family tree--a tree that allows you not only to show the people who compose your family, but to tell their stories. And by telling their stories, you'll create a picture of your family as a whole that shows why it's unique. You'll also be creating an invaluable family history. You'll answer questions about where and when family members were born, what their interests are, what moments have shaped them, and many others. If you don't have all the answers, don't worry! You'll be able to e-mail members of your family about the tree, and they'll have the ability to help you complete it. And when the tree is done, you'll be able to print out the information entered for each family member.
  3. StoryCorps: The conversation of a lifetime Let your class listen to family stories from StoryCorp and discuss the family identity that is being constructed through the family narrative that is told (just like Huisman, 2008, cited in the chapter).
  4. Indian Department of Child Services – Child Welfare Manual This website provides real-world applications of a family network diagram, including genogram symbols and application.
  5. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) This website covers the federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. One can get a sense of how privacy management is applied to the family from an outside source.
