After studying Chapter 5, students will be able to do the following:

  1. Describe the various purposes of conducting a review of related literature
  2. Discuss what is meant by objectivity in a literature review
  3. Distinguish between and provide examples of primary and secondary sources of information
  4. Conduct searches for related literature using ERIC, Google Scholar, and ProQuest
  5. List and describe various keys to organizing a literature review
  6. Locate both primary and secondary sources of information appropriate for a topic of interest
  7. Write a review of related literature for a topic of interest
